Personnel Committee
January 19, 2004

Meeting
held in the Library of MSUUF.
1. General
Jack
handed out Personnel Committee Minutes for December.
Committee
requested copies of November minutes form Joanne.
2. Personnel Policy
Jack
completed revision and passed it on to Marc.
3. New salary guidelines
The
Personnel
Committeee is using UUA guidelines to
recommend fair compensation salary goals. The UUA job classifications listed
several job classifications that could match the DRE, Business Manager, and
Office Assistant positions. Joanne will contact Mark Gallagher to get best matches for the
Business Manager and Office Assistant positions. Joanne will also contact Barbara Stevens (copying Mark) to clarify
best fit for DRE out of four UUA Religious Educator job descriptions.
4. Posting Minutes on MSUUF
web
Monthly meeting minutes will be reviewed by members of the
Personnel Committee prior to posting on the
MSUUF web. The Committee decided to give a window of one week after meeting
minutes are e-mailed to the Committee members to allow changes or correction of
discrepancies. Jack will pass on minutes to Andrew one week after receiving
minutes.
5. Addition of new members to the Personnel Committee
The Personnel Committee is currently one
person short, and another member will complete the Personnel
Committee assignment at the end of June. Discussed potential
candidates suggested by Helen Hewitt and Nora. Marc will send e-mail to
potential candidates and will invite them to participate in the Personnel
Committee.
6. Performance Evaluations
Changes to Forms B and C have been implemented by Liz and
e-mailed to Marc. Marc will send
forms A (Mark's form), B and C to supervisors along with a cover letter
including suggestions for which form to use with each job classification.
7. Fair
Compensation
Marc and Jack updated the Committee on the Fair
Compensation Committee's efforts, and shared Frequently Asked Questions and the
Fair Compensation Info Sheet. The workshops have been set up,
attendance at the workshops is a concern. Joanne suggested handing out Fair
Compensation package to the congregation. Julie is e mailing an invitation to
the congregation to improve attendance.
