Check-in

* Sunday Book
Sunday Hymns were selected and revised

* Children as Featured Musicians
What procedure do you want to follow when parents have a child that is interested in being a special Musicians?
Brian has talked with Barbara, and asked for willing volunteers or names of children that might be able to provide appropriate music for services.

We need to write our guidelines that will include: 1) The need to set the tone of the service with the music, 2) the time available for each piece of music, 3) they do not need to do both services or all of the musical selections, 4) the child Featured Musician should have music that is practiced and appropriate.
On Sundays with Children's time, perhaps we can get the children involved with the Music?

* Tapestry:
October 25th Concert raised $218 for the Tapestry Project. www.fortvancouvertapestry.com

* Other Concerts:
Thomas Rheingans is on board for the June 5th concert of early American music. He may be available for the March 13th concert. We have had no news from Ron Paul (Rex will find our when Ron's Tapestry group can play.)

We could have a “Tapestry” theme—“Woven Threads” perhaps for the March 13th Coffee house. (Invite Talisman for March13th?) In our January meeting we will discuss the March Coffee House.

* Choir Report:
Not much to report/ Rex and Erica will meet with Mark and Discuss conflicts of choir songs with the service type (theme, subject, intergenerational.)

* Christmas Eve:
Mark, Rex and Erica met for the planning meeting/ Rex is working on at list of volunteers. The choir will be singing #256 "Winter Night". Ryc will be adding a Cello Part.

* January Concert:
Al Wilson and Patti Collins Show Tunes concert

Rex will send Al and Patti a letter to find out whether it is a fundraiser or not. Where the Money is going, and if it needs Board of Trustees approval. Check rental policy if not a MSUUF event. Find our if they have lined up an accompanist. Send them a fundraiser form, pink slips to reserve the room for the event and the rehearsals.

* Future: plans for the future

Jack Slingerland sent Rex a job description for the Musci Director at Evergreen UU Fellowship. This will be a good reference for the future when we begin to search for a Music Director. Evergreen's MD is a .25 position.

Presently, the Music Committee provides most of the services of a Music Director. It would be nice to be able to have a Music Director that could more closely coordinate with the Minister and the RE Director.

Rex will try to have a plan put together for the December meeting regarding a position description for a Music Director (low, medium, high priorities).

BIN ITEMS

1. Next years budget: list events that we haven't had this year because of our reduced budget: Men's chorus, Etc.

2. Find some time to use hymn #175.

3. Find some time to bring Talisman into play, either a Sunday Service, or a concert.
