New Business
Show Tunes
Al Wilson presented an idea for an evening of Show Tunes. His vision is a
three hour program broken up into four segments. We scheduled two days
in January
04 on 24,25, most likely the 25 because there would not need to set up for
Sunday Service. Time is at 2:00PM or 4:00PM. Al will be organizing this event,
and the Music Committee offered to help with minor expenses, and with PR.
Al will be back to the committee as he firms up more of the details.
October 25th Concert
Beltaine, Celtic Muse, Trio, Al Wilson, and Vocal Quartet. We could check with
Clovena Byrd for Lute player. Could do some dancing Check with Barbara Gray
and David Percival. Some 50's poetry?
Dessert potluck and donations at the door.
Ryc's Intentions.
Rex checked with Ryc, and he seems quite happy to stay with our choir. He would
also be willing to take on more duties as he moves into his retirement from
the Parks position.
Choir Report
Sept 9th is 1st performance. There are 25 members on the roster,
21 singers on Sunday. The choir retreat is next Saturday. The stoles have
been cleaned. We need to know what to do for the arrangement reimbursement
for Ryc? We need to clarify the number of arrangements that we can pay for
from Ryc. Could we try to use existing music.
Budget needs
We need to clarify how we are going to pay for
the depreciation funds for the chimes and the piano. Could this money come
from restricted
funds, or all from the October 25th Concert? Rex will check this out.
We need to work on scheduling Thomas Rheingans and the Tapestry
Quartet. Erica
and Rex will work on this problem.
Michele will draft a letter to the Board of Trustees concerning the Library
Panel for the Tapestry Project celebrating Vancouver's 200th anniversary.
Hymns
It is our responsibility to have Hymns selected by Tuesday of the week
they are to be played at Sunday Service. Time was spent at the meeting to
accomplish this need.
April 25th presentation. Rex is concerned that he has not clearly communicated
with the RE Committee, and will go back to the committee to clarify what is
to be done on the April 25th Intergenerational Service.
Featured Musician
Michele drafted a letter to give to Featured Musician which
will help them see what their roll is in the Sunday Service. It will also
help them with the length of the songs. The letter will go to Brain Levy
first, and then to prospective Featured Musician.
Hymns were selected through September.
